Tip #1 - Due to the age of your house, materials used and other factors, the wall you intend to use for your closet may not be “square” (have the same width measurement from top to bottom). To ensure an accurate measurement, measure the wall width at three points in your closet: at the ceiling, close to the floor and somewhere in the middle. Then, use the smallest of the three measurements for your order size.
Tip #2 - Identify and make notes of any possible obstructions. For example: if your closet has a bathroom nearby, make sure you are not covering up any cleanouts, air vents, electrical outlets or switches in the closet. Also, look up and make sure that ceiling lights will not be in the way of a new closet.
Tip #3 – Reach-in Closets - Pay close attention to your closet’s existing style of doors and sidewalls, particularly if you are ordering a unit with drawers. Our drawers fully extend to maximize a full range of use. Some doors/sidewalls may block this full range extension, limiting their usefulness.
Tip #4 – Walk-in Closets - Don’t overbuild your closet space! Remember, sometimes less is more.
